The Idaho Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services Association (IVFESA) represents over 8,000 volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians across Idaho. Idaho’s volunteer fire fighting force is over 75% volunteer. IVFESA is an organization that represents the best interests of volunteer emergency responders – every member of the board is an active member of an Idaho volunteer department.
IVFESA offers legislative representation, retention and recruitment assistance, education and training to volunteer emergency responders. IVFESA is also active on a national level, representing Idaho on the National Volunteer Firefighter Council (NVFC) including positions on the Wildland Committee, as Vice Chair of the Recruit and Retention Committee as well as the Chair of the EMS Section.
IVFESA is committed to providing benefits to Idaho’s Volunteer Emergency Responders. One hundred percent of membership dues are reinvested into providing benefits to the membership. All IVFESA members are covered by a $10,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Policy. In 2015, this policy was changed to double the coverage in the event of a Line of Duty accident. We are also committed to provide training to volunteers. In addition to local training events around the state, each year IVFESA a training academy that our members attend at no registration cost. This year’s academy will be in partnership with the Mountain Home Academy of Fire, in September in Mountain Home. Watch the Annual Conference Page for courses and registration materials.
